Conference objective
Helping to provide primary care professionals with the knowledge and understanding that will enable them to deliver best practice every day to patients with CVD, diabetes and related disorders.
Why has it never been more important in CVD than it is now to make best practice everyday practice?
Most premature deaths from CVD are preventable, but despite this, we have more than 73,000 deaths in the UK each year. About 1 in 6 men and 1 in 10 women die from CHD. There are an estimated 2.3 million people living with CHD and around 2 million people affected by angina. In addition, in over 90% of cases, the risk of a first heart attack is related to nine modifiable risk factors, so we have plenty of opportunity to make a difference if we work together and make best practice everyday practice when dealing with our patients at risk of CVD.
What topics are included?
The programme focuses on the complex of interrelated diseases which are among the most frequent and costly primary care visits caused by or associated with CVD.
