BACPR/NACR Certification is here!
The BACPR Standards & Core Components [2012] are
the gold standard for delivery of cardiovascular rehabilitation (CR) in the UK;
an aspirational standard for all CR programmes to work towards. For two
years, the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation
(BACPR) and the National Audit of Cardiac Rehabilitation (NACR) have been
working together for two years to develop and pilot a Certification process. This
will enable UK CR programmes to demonstrate whether they meet minimum standards
of service delivery on their journey to achieving the ‘gold standard’. We are delighted to announce that we
are ready to launch BACPR/NACR Certification of Minimum Standards for Cardiac Rehabilitation. There are
more details about why it was developed, what it entails and what it costs at http://www.bacpr.com/pages/page_box_contents.asp?PageID=911 Guidance on
applying for Certification (including details of the minimum standards) is
available from education@bacpr.com. Please note that programmes applying
for Certification need to be entering data on NACR.
